Trump–Zelensky meeting ends in shouting match, minerals deal not signed

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on February 28 ended in a heated argument on camera, after which the signing of a framework agreement on Ukrainian mineral resources and a joint press conference were cancelled.
Vice President JD Vance joined the exchange, accusing Zelensky of being "disrespectful" and of failing to thank the US for its aid. Trump said Zelensky was "gambling with World War Three". Zelensky asked for security guarantees and warned that Putin cannot be trusted.
"He can come back when he is ready for peace"
The Ukrainian delegation left the White House earlier than planned. Trump wrote on social media that Zelensky "can come back when he is ready for Peace". Zelensky later said relations could be repaired but that he would not apologise.
