War in Ukraine

Representatives of the US, Ukraine, leading European countries and NATO meet in Brussels today. Trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US are scheduled for November 10 and 11 in Abu Dhabi.

With winter approaching, Russia is again targeting Ukraine’s energy system. Ukrainian drones meanwhile set off a fire at a refinery in Yaroslavl.

Ahead of talks in Abu Dhabi, Moscow is acting from a position of “full strategic initiative”. Data on front-line movement, losses and weapons production paint a different picture: a war in which Russia finds it ever harder to seize territory, and ever easier to hit civilians.
