Election commission: Georgian Dream wins 53.9 percent, President Zourabichvili rejects results

According to preliminary results from Georgia's Central Election Commission, the ruling Georgian Dream party won 53.93 percent of the vote in the October 26 parliamentary election, giving it an absolute majority in parliament. Turnout was about 59 percent.
Four opposition lists cleared the five percent threshold: Coalition for Change (11.0 percent), Unity – National Movement (10.2), Strong Georgia (8.8) and Gakharia for Georgia (7.8). Together the opposition has about 37.6 percent.
A "Russian special operation"
President Salome Zourabichvili said on October 27 that she does not recognise the results, calling them a "total falsification" and a "Russian special operation", and urged citizens to protest in Tbilisi. Opposition parties said they would not take up their seats.
The OSCE/ODIHR observation mission said the election was marred by unequal resources, pressure on voters and tension, with reports of vote-buying and intimidation.
