Drones over Ryazan refinery overnight as Komyshuvakha death toll rises to 40

The Rosneft refinery in Ryazan was reportedly targeted in a drone attack overnight on November 5. Footage posted on Telegram channels shows an explosion and a large fire in the city's industrial zone. Russian authorities have not confirmed an attack, and Ryazan governor Pavel Malkov had not commented by morning. The footage could not be independently verified.

The refinery, with a capacity of about 17 million tonnes a year, was also hit on October 15, after which, according to Reuters, one of its main crude distillation units was shut down.

Komyshuvakha and Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on November 4 that the death toll in Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region had risen to 40 and that more than 30 people may still be under the rubble. A Russian FAB-3000 bomb struck a school used as a humanitarian aid distribution point on November 2.

In Kyiv, after the mass attack on energy infrastructure on November 3, the water system effectively stopped working and residents went more than 24 hours without water, the worst such outage since the invasion began. The system was stabilised on the afternoon of November 4. The Air Force said Russia launched 310 drones on the night of November 3–4, of which 272 were shot down or suppressed.
