US launches wave of strikes on the Houthis in Yemen, at least 31 killed

US forces launched a wave of air and naval strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen on March 15, on the orders of President Donald Trump, who announced "decisive and powerful military action" until the Houthis stop attacking ships. The strikes hit targets in Sanaa, Saada and other provinces.
The Houthi-run health ministry said at least 31 people were killed, including women and children, and more than 100 wounded. Aircraft from the carrier Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea are taking part in the operation.
A message to Tehran
Trump warned Iran to immediately end its support for the Houthis and threatened to hold it "fully accountable" for their attacks. The Houthis had announced days earlier that they would resume attacks on Israeli ships after Israel blocked aid from entering Gaza.
