SDA, DF and SBiH form a bloc: the "Troika" should go into opposition at every level

Delegations of SDA, the Democratic Front (DF) and Stranka za BiH (SBiH) agreed on November 3 in the BiH parliament building to act jointly in forming governments at state level, in the Federation and in some cantons, Faktor and Times.ba report. Under the deal, the "Troika" parties (SDP, NiP and NS) should go into opposition, including in Sarajevo Canton.

"It is out of the question for the Troika parties to keep holding power," said DF secretary-general Dženan Đonlagić.

Seats

In the state House of Representatives (42 seats) SDA has nine, SNSD six, SDP five, HDZ BiH four, SBiH three, and NiP, DF-GS, SDS and PSS two each. In the Federation House of Representatives (98 seats) SDA has 31, SDP 16, the HDZ BiH-led coalition 15, SBiH nine, the NiP-led coalition seven and DF-GS six.

SNSD has vetoed Stranka za BiH, which blocks a simple SDA–SNSD–HDZ BiH coalition at state level. SDP says it will join government only as an "equal partner". SBiH leader Semir Smajić says US chargé d'affaires John Ginkel told them the US would not interfere in government formation.
