Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat for the "Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia" list in the snap parliamentary election on the evening of October 25. "Based on the stratified sample, it is clear that we have lost this election," Vučić said at around 9:30 p.m. at SNS headquarters in New Belgrade.

Vučić estimated that the Student List would win "between 135 and 140 seats" in the 250-seat parliament. "We don't have the results, many will be surprised, and you will realise how much some people lied," he added.

The end of an era

The Serbian Progressive Party has governed Serbia since 2012. The Student List grew out of the movement that began after the Novi Sad canopy collapse on November 1, 2024, and is headed by Ilija Srdanović.
