Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman V. Narayanan said on October 24 that the first uncrewed Gaganyaan flight, G1, will fly "in two months", UNI reports. The capsule will launch on the human-rated LVM3 rocket from Sriharikota, carrying the half-humanoid robot Vyommitra.
This year saw a capsule air-drop test (April 10) and the robot's integration from April 28. The crewed H1 flight is not expected before 2027. "Gaganyaan is a technology-intensive mission," Narayanan said.
Recovering from failures
A GSLV-F17 launched the EOS-05 satellite on September 4, ISRO's first success this financial year after two failed launches (May 18, 2025 and January 12, 2026). Six more launches are planned by the end of the financial year.
