Hurricane Isaias reached the Gulf Coast on the night of October 9–10 as a Category 2 storm, with 105 mph (169 km/h) winds and a pressure of 971 millibars, CBS and the US National Weather Service reported. It had earlier peaked at Category 3, with 120 mph (193 km/h) winds.
Isaias became a hurricane only on October 7, making it the latest-forming first hurricane of an Atlantic season since at least 1905. Forecasts called for up to 15 inches (380 mm) of rain in parts of Alabama and Florida. According to AP, at least four people died.
"Please be on the lookout. Even if you're way outside the cone, you could still have tornado risks," said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
