Zelensky asks Ibero-American summit for transformers from Brazil and Mexico, cables from Chile and generators from Spain

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked the 30th Ibero-American Summit in Madrid for "urgent supplies of transformers, cables, generators and other electrical equipment", Reuters reports. He sought transformers from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, cables from Chile, and equipment and generators from Spain.
Zelensky claimed Russia had damaged every power plant in Ukraine and invited Latin American countries to cooperate on drones, electronic warfare and air defence. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said Ukraine deserves support because there is "an aggressor and a victim". No specific pledges were announced.
Portugal and joint production
On the sidelines of the summit Zelensky met Portuguese President António José Seguro. "We also talked about our opportunities for joint weapons production. We sincerely hope there will be further steps," Zelensky wrote. According to sources, they discussed defence solutions and drone production.
