Aliyev hands over homes in Zangilan and Jabrayil: "In six years we have enabled nearly 100,000 people to return"

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev handed over house keys in the villages of Jahangirbeyli (Zangilan) and Soltanli (Jabrayil) on November 6, ahead of Victory Day on November 8, APA and AzerNews report. About 700 families are returning to the two villages.

The first phase of Jahangirbeyli covers 62.57 of 179.5 hectares, with 242 houses of two to five rooms, an 80-place kindergarten and a 264-place school. The village was occupied in 1993 and retaken by Azerbaijan's army on October 21, 2020; the foundation stone was laid in May 2023.

"Yet, in just six years, we have enabled nearly 100,000 people to return to Garabagh and East Zangezur," Aliyev said.
