Paraguay's Senate opens an extraordinary impeachment session against President Santiago Peña and rejects his request for a 72-hour delay.

Peña resigned on Thursday over the collapse of digital bank Ueno, but the resignation has not been formally accepted; the lower house impeached him 78–0.
